Lively interest in domestic wine at German missions abroad
The wine recommendations made by the Federal Foreign Office last year following a DWI call for tenders for German representations abroad were well received.
A survey of the selected wineries revealed that 20 foreign representatives around the world ordered wines and sparkling wines for official events from the 2023 range of recommendations for official events. They chose over half of the 19 wines and sparkling wines in total.
In order to do justice to the different circumstances and requirements at official events such as receptions or banquets in the individual countries, the DWI provides a very wide range of wines each year as a recommendation for purchasing. The selection for last year's range was made from 305 wines that were sent in from wineries to DWI and blind tasted.
