Wines of Germany Debuts Official Federal Government Pavilion at ProWine Mumbai 2026

The participation marks a significant step in strengthening the visibility of German wines in India. Four German wine producers will present their wines within the German Pavilion, while six additional German estates will exhibit independently at the fair.

A curated introduction to German wine

Throughout both fair days, visitors are invited to explore a curated selection of wines at the Wines of Germany tasting counter. The programme will spotlight German Riesling and Spätburgunder, two signature styles recognised for their precision, elegance and exceptional versatility with Indian cuisine.
“German Riesling and Spätburgunder offer remarkable affinity with the diversity, spices and textures of Indian food,” said Melanie Broyé-Engelkes, managing director Deutsches Weininstitut. “ProWine Mumbai provides an ideal platform to introduce these wines to India’s trade professionals and to build long-term partnerships.”

Masterclasses and expert guidance

A special highlight of the German presence will be a series of masterclasses led by Romana Echensperger, Master of Wine. The sessions will introduce the Indian trade audience to the character, precision and food-friendly versatility of German wines (videos).

Renowned sommelier Gagan Sharma will also support the German Pavilion on site, offering expert guidance to visiting trade professionals.

An invitation to the Indian wine trade

Wines of Germany welcomes importers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers, restaurateurs and beverage professionals to visit the German Pavilion at Booth G32. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste German Riesling, elegant Spätburgunder and a broad range of high-quality German wines, while exploring opportunities for sustainable, mutually beneficial business partnerships.
