On September 26, 2025, Anna Zenz could hardly believe her luck: she was elected the 77th German Wine Queen. Emma Meinhardt and Katja Simon also beamed with joy when it became clear that they would complete the trio as German Wine Princesses. Together, they will represent German wine at numerous events both at home and abroad for a year. Now, halfway through their term, they look back on eventful months.

Previous Highlights

One question the Wine Queens are asked particularly often is: What has been the biggest highlight so far? "It's difficult to single out one highlight," says Emma Meinhardt. "Every event is special in its own way. It began with the incredibly warm welcomes in our home region. This was followed by numerous wine tastings and presentations, fascinating discussions with industry representatives, and wine policy events. The tour of Germany, during which we visit all 13 wine-growing regions, is also a very special experience."

A Look Behind the Scenes

Beyond public appearances, the role of the Wine Queens involves much more. Katja Simon offers a glimpse behind the scenes: “The preparation and follow-up for our engagements is very intensive. At the same time, we plan and create content for our social media channels together with the German Wine Institute. It's particularly enriching that we gain so many insights into the diverse areas of the industry – from viticulture and marketing to politics. From these varied perspectives, we take away new ideas from every engagement, which continually shape our view of German wine.”

A Look at the Second Half of Her Term Anna Zenz also looks back gratefully on the past months and is excited about what lies ahead: “The first half of my term was full of special encounters. In the coming months, my itinerary includes trips to Japan, Singapore, and Miami. Being able to represent German wine on other continents will certainly be a completely new and exciting experience – I am very much looking forward to it.”

A Passion for German Wine

Their tightly packed schedules leave little room for personal pursuits, but their enthusiasm for their roles far outweighs any limitations. "Every day we get to meet new people, hear fascinating stories, and share our passion for German wine," say the three Wine Queens. "It's a privilege for which we are incredibly grateful." With great dedication, curiosity, and passion, Anna Zenz, Katja Simon, and Emma Meinhardt look forward to the coming months – ready to continue representing the diversity and quality of German wines authentically, with comprehensive expertise and great enthusiasm.
