The programmatic highlight of this year's annual conference of the heads of government of the German states (MPK) in Mainz (Rhein) was probably the wine tasting: on the occasion of the handover of the MPK chairmanship to Minister President Alexander Schweitzer, the 77th German Wine Queen Anna Zenz presented wines from all six Rhineland-Palatinate wine-growing regions.

During the conference's culinary segment, the invited guests enjoyed Rhineland-Palatinate wines from all six RLP wine-growing regions, expertly presented by German Wine Queen Anna Zenz.

After the discussions in the Rheingoldhalle, Alexander Schweitzer and his wife Barbara Schweitzer invited guests to a festive program at the Leibniz Center for Archaeology in the afternoon. The ceremonial handover from Saxony to Rhineland-Palatinate and the wine tasting also took place there.

Goals: Strengthening the economy and security, modernizing the state

Under the chairmanship of Rhineland-Palatinate, the main priorities of strengthening the economy, improving security, modernizing the state, and distributing costs more fairly were discussed. “The minister presidents have shown across party lines that we are enablers who work out viable compromises even on difficult issues in order to solve problems,” said Minister President Alexander Schweitzer at the conclusion of the kick-off conference of the minister presidents' conference's year of chairmanship.
