Potsdam: Charlotte Weihl visits the Royal Wine Festival
The German Wine Queen Charlotte Weihl visits the capital of the state of Brandenburg. With a population of 190,000, Potsdam is one of the most prosperous places in the Berlin conurbation, which has a population of around 4.8 million.
Wine, music and enjoyment
Wine, music and enjoyment were celebrated for three days against the dreamlike backdrop of the Klausberg Belvedere and the Royal Vineyard in Potsdam. "The royal vineyard itself has a special history and is now managed by Mosaik-Berlin," explained Charlotte Weihl after the opening of the 13th royal wine festival.
Including projects related to viticulture
"I am delighted that wine culture is also celebrated outside of our German wine-growing regions", said the German Wine Queen, who also visited public projects related to viticulture in Potsdam:
"'Mosaik' is a social workshop that enables people with disabilities to work in horticulture and viticulture," says Charlotte happily. Since 2006, the team has been passionately tending to over 3,000 vines - a great example of how inclusion and tradition go hand in hand.
