German Wine Pavilion unveiled at ProWine Shanghai 2023
At this years ProWine Shanghai (nov 8th to 10th 2023) some 22 German wineries and their import exhibitors displayed more than 50 brands.
Pit Heltmann, Consul General of the German Consulate in Shanghai, and Friederike Dörfler, Food and Agriculture Counsellor of the German Embassy in Beijing visited the German Wine Pavilion, meeting Manuela Liebchen, Marketing Manager of the German Wine Institute. The business potential of German wine in the Chinese market is apparant.
Professionals with great interest in German wines
During the three-day exhibition, the German wine exhibition group welcomed thousands of professional visitors. Meanwhile Wines of Germany China organized 7 short seminars on German wine taught by German wine certified educators Zhu Tang, Rachel Wang and Ofilos Wu. The short and concise half-hour courses with distinctive themes introducing the fundamentals of German wine, attracted more than 150 professionals.
In addition to short seminars at the Pavilion’s degustation booth, numerous German Riesling tastings took place, presenting Top50 German wine, Top 10 German Pinot Noir, TOP20 Best-Buy award-winning German Riesling and Pinot Noir wines.
Master class on Riesling and Pinot Noir
On the second day of the exhibition, a German wine master class was taught by Mateus Wu, wine expert at Wines of Germany China, leading more than 60 wine industry professionals to taste 8 selected wines, showing the great terroir of German wine.
The next edition of ProWine Shanghai will be on November 12th to 14th 2024, and the German Wine Pavilion looks forward to reuniting with you in 2024!
