Premiere: Election of Germany's Wine Majesty Open to All Genders
Because there are two male candidates this year for the first time, after 76 years the election of the German Wine Queen will become the election of the German Wine Majesty.
Since last year, the Rheinhessen and Middle Rhine wine regions have had male representatives. Together with the winequeens from the other eleven German wine-growing regions, they will be sent into the race for the German Wine Majesty on September 20.
Should one of the two male candidates be elected to office in the final on September 26, he would bear the title of German Wine King or German Wine Prince and receive a chain of office as an insignia instead of a crown.
On behalf of the German Wine Institute (DWI), the new German Wine Majesty will spend a year on the road at around 200 events in Germany and on international stages to convince both experts and consumers of the benefits of wines from German regions.
