Awards for DWI Managing Director Monika Reule and the German Wine Institute
Monika Reule, Managing Director of the German Wine Institute (DWI), was honoured as „Wine Personality of the Year“ at the international wine trade fair ProWein .
The award was presented by the association of German-speaking wine publicists, Weinfeder e.V. „Since 2007, Monika Reule is the managing director of the marketing organisation for German wine. With her competent, objective manner, she has brought a new quality to community advertising“, Weinfeder e.V. explained the decision in favour of this year's award winner, who was honoured with a certificate and a „Wine Oscar“. SWR presenter Holger Wienpahl honoured Reule as „one of the most influential wine women in Germany“. This is the ninth time that Weinfeder e.V. has awarded the „Wine Personality of the Year“ prize to an outstanding personality on the wine scene.
„German Wine Critics' Award“ goes to the DWI
The Association of German-speaking Wine Journalists has been honouring companies with the „German Wine Critics' Award“ since 2005. This year, the prize was awarded to the German Wine Institute. In his laudatory speech, long-time SWR editor Werner Eckert emphasised in particular that the DWI sets standards in wine communication. As a joint organisation of the wine industry, the DWI has been coordinating the promotion of German wine on the domestic market and internationally for 75 years.
