DWI ProWein 2025: Spotlight on White Pinots
This year, the German Wine Institute (DWI) is highlighting primarily the white Pinot varieties at the world's largest wine trade fair ProWein.
Under the tagline "White Pinot Paradise – Burgunderwunder Deutschland“, wines from the Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay varieties will be available for free tasting at the DWI stand in Hall 1 C110 from 16 to 18 March. The collection comprises 24 dry Pinot wines, which reflect the diverse styles of white Pinots due to their different types of vinification. The DWI will honour the best wines of each of the three varieties on the Sunday of the fair at 11 a.m.
"With this year's ProWein focus, we intend to show the wine world that our white Pinots are also absolutely competitive internationally. In addition, we want to consider the dynamics in the cultivation of these grape varieties, whose vineyards in Germany have tripled from around 6,000 hectares to 18,000 hectares since 2000," explains DWI Managing Director Monika Reule.
In line with with the Pinot focus, the DWI will be offering tastings of selected Pinot sparkling wines and red Pinot wines at its stand.
10th Generation Riesling ProWein presentation
This year, Generation Riesling is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its joint stand at ProWein (Hall 1, E111). Ten Generation Riesling members from seven German wine-growing regions will be presenting their wines in the immediate vicinity of the DWI stand. Their wines will also be presented again at the DWI stand on the three days of the fair.
On Monday evening, the Generation Riesling welcomes their guests to the popular "Generation Riesling Abendbrot" in a relaxed atmosphere. For a perfect start to Tuesday morning, the GR offers for the first time a "Mini breakfast with the Generation-Riesling - The early bird sips the Sekt".
